[ JC-Exclusive Review ] Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves

Note: I only review the single player campaign of the game because i felt that the multiplayer mode is just a bonus to this game.

Intro:
I have to admit that action-adventure games are my favourite type and since playing the first Uncharted, i have been anticipating another game which can match the level of excitement of the game. This game has been hyped after those amazing trailers and gameplays in E3 2009 conference, but does it really delivers?

Story:
The story unfolds when main character Nathan Drake,a fortune hunter, receives invitation from his friend Harry Flynn and Chloe Frazer for a job offer to steal a Mongolian oil lamp in the Istanbul Museum. Nate accepts the offer as he learns that it may also reveals secret behind Marco Polo's lost fleet. Nate soon after discovers that the lamps leads to the ships that was transporting the legendary Cintamani Stone from Shamballah. The story is very well told and comparable to many Hollywood movies. Simply brilliant.

Graphics:
The first Uncharted has already put so many current generation of game to shame and i have to really praise the developer Naughty Dog in this category. And when they claim they maximize the usage of the PS3 for this game, you gotta really believe it. The architecture, the movements of characters, facial expression, lightning, texture and the environment : top notch. Its just so incredible that you may want to stop at a certain point looking at the top view of the city, the mountains and the snow ( i particularly like the snow very much). What is another incredible thing is that even at moving at high speed, the environment are still so solid and beautiful. No matter its during cutscenes or gameplay, the graphics are still unbeatable at the moment and top in the business.

Sound:
Lets start with the music first. The opening and the main theme is the same as the previous Uncharted, which is pleasant and suits the overall treasure hunting theme. The background musics during battles also makes it more exciting and sort of giving you the theatrical feel in movies. The voice actors are also at the movie's standard. Nathan Drake (voiced by Nolan North), Elena (Emily Rose) and Chloe (Claudia Black), Lazarevic (Graham McTavish) and Flynn (Steve Valentine) and a few more which sets an example to other games on how voice acting can be this influential to games.

Elena is hot! Emily Rose is hot too. Holy crap!

Gameplay:
This game is a mixture of 3rd person shooter and action adventure. Shooting is in Gears Of War style where player will get to hide behind objects such as walls are vehicles to avoid damages and be able to shoot normally or blind shooting. The players are allow to carry two weapons at a time, one being single hand weapon such as pistols and micro machine guns and the other weapon will be two handed such as AK-47 and sniper rifles. They are also melee attacks where players are to press the square button to attack and triangle to avoid. As the story goes stronger enemies such as the heavy armored are very difficult to be killed by melee. Stealth attacks also being implemented here where player can kill the enemy without being noticed from the back. Aside shooting, players will have to climb and move from places to places and also solving puzzles along the way. Although the places that you are allowed to climb are determined but they are well executed. Puzzles this time are pretty large in scale, but overall its still not challenging enough.

Stop and stare...and shoot.

Final Verdict:
I took about 11 hours to complete the game in Normal Mode. And its one hell/holy sh*t/crazy of a journey. Amazing storyline, graphics, gameplay, voice acting and action packed, this will certainly be one of the best games in years. ITS THAT GOOD.
Note: This also became my second favourite game of all time (behind God Of War series).

Intro:

No, i am not a fans of batman or DC comic. And this is the first ever in my life playing a superhero game based on comic. The nearest game close to this i have ever played is Infamous, but trust me, this is a very unique game that will certainly appeal to you in many categories.

Story:

The game starts with The Joker apprehended by the Batman and was brought to Arkham Asylum, a psychiatric hospital which imprison many criminals from Gotham. But as soon as they reached the asylum, Joker are able to escape with the help of Harley Quinn and also take control of the entire facility. You will then take control of Batman, fighting with prisoners of the hospital which are also the recent crews of the Joker that are allocated there due to a mysterious fire at Blackgate Prison and soon uncover the real truth behind Joker's plot.

Graphics:

This game uses Unreal Engine 3.5, which really doesn't disappoint anyone who plays in any platform. It focuses to portrait the dark side of Gotham and the feel of how Batman really fights the criminals. The design of the characters and the whole asylum are very good, and i like it especially when u are able to look at the far buildings of Gotham, one of them which is the Wayne Company.The animation are also quite good during battles although its not too varied but it is decent enough to satisfy the players. Though there is a downside of the the graphics which is when the characters eyes are off in certain conversation scenarios, overall it's still very good compared to many other current generation games.

Sound:

Firstly, the voice acting is incredible. Some of the voices like The Joker, Batman, Commissioner Gordon and Harley Quinn are from The Batman: Animated Series and really did their job well especially Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill.

The music and sound during combats or certain situation also intensify the actions and the gameplay of the game. One of the most interesting in this category will be the interviews tape that you can obtain during the game. The interviews explains many prisoners of the asylum such as the Killer Croc and Poison Ivy on why they are brought into the asylum and their personalities.

Gameplay:

This game is a 3rd-person action-stealth game and emphasis on stealth accept during battles with armed enemies and boss battle. The new "free-flow" combat system using three buttons which is stun, attack and takedown are fun by chaining combos but may be repetitive throughout the whole game. The combos will earn EXP which will allows you to unlock new skills or enhance weapons. Players can of course use Batman's Batarang and a few more weapons that will be introduced further in the game. Players can also activate the "detective mode", sort of like night vision goggles, which enables Batman to scan for certain objects and also enemies behind walls. It is probably used in most area and very important to scan for armed enemies to plan for a stealth kill. Players can also solve The riddler's puzzle, which you need to scan for certain objects and finding trophies. Each of this will earn you EXP and also unlock certain items and challenges mode's map. The best part of the gameplay will be the one of a kind boss battles especially for the Scarecrow battles which i do not want to spoil further. After finishing the main game mode, you can play the challenge mode where you need to clear the map in certain time by killing all the enemies of the map.

Final Verdict:

I personally love playing games with excellent story and here we have a real good superhero game with good story which is not based on movie. Add on with good gameplay and engaging boss battles, this is one of the must play game of 2009.

Summary of Facts:

Tournament: Shell Caribbean Cup 1994
Match: Last group-stage match (Barbados vs Grenada)

Barbados had to win by a two-goal margin to proceed to the Finals.
Otherwise, Grenada will go through.

Now comes the stupid rule -- if two teams are tied at the end of normal time (90 mins), the first team to score in extra time will be considered a two-goal winner.

The game:

Barbados was leading by two goals until Grenada scored in the 83rd minute.

As full time was approaching, Barbados players realised that they couldn't score another goal in time. So they ~~activated cheat mode~~ deliberately scored an own goal to force extra time (where goals count double lol).

Remember, Barbados needed to win by two goals or else Grenada would progress to the finals.

The Grenada players were stunned. By the time they realised what was happening, it was too late. Grenada started to attack their own goal as well.

Barbados' players weren't stupid of course. They defended both goals, and Grenada couldn't score!

Somehow Barbados managed to score in extra time and they entered the finals!

Red Alert 3 - uprising (expnasion set)

1 thing for sure is this game have evolved from hard to defend to impossible to defend LOL

1. the russain have motor bike - can switch to artillery or moloktov = fast attack no matter how u garrison or what tower u have it wont work as the mortar range as far as tesla coil = all starting tower useless
the moloktov will burn garrison so yeah fast attack is possible now with soviet xd
they got this new tanks that shoot lots of rocket, 4 of it fight 3 guardian tank and 2 ifv = 1 lost and those tanks lost badly swt

now the allies - they gain a nice plain that hover the air and can shoot a splash attack which deal alot dmg to tanks and buildings, it is tested against anti air turrets well it win big time but yeah this thing still killable allthough it got auto regen

empire of the rising sun got this new robot that can chop up tanks and a nice water fortress that hav tons of hp but suck against air as the missle dont deal much dmg but when it transform, it shoot a wave of laser that destry or at least deal half dmg to anything along the line swtnessss

so yeah the strategy in dis game dont change much = preassure them fast and building turrets = waste of cash lol xd

in the present, every1 always want to get to be the top so.... the more u whack the boss the more the udnerling will gang you up xd

in war terms, is not worth it at all because assume the boss is at the center and u charge through, the 1 on the left and right will wipe u 1st b4 u reach the boss xd
(thats warlike thinking xd)

rational thinking will say why bother fighting 3 when you only need to fight 2 xd

Anyohhaseyo.....suddenly feels a click to review movies since TV is the shits. No worries the first movie i review is a western movie. Although this movie is not a new one but i think its a must watch comedy : TROPIC THUNDER .

I wasn't a fan of Ben Stiller's movie as Adam Sandler's Click pawns everything else. But this movie attracts me because Stiller hired the actor of IRONMAN : Robert Downey JR. He rox man...seriously he rox. And he had to act as a black man in the show...dem rox man...dem rox.

Ok this show is about this group of people fighting in a Vietnam war. Ok thats all.

Note: Not that i don't want to tell u more about the movie. But i don't wanna spoil this movie. Dun even google/wiki about this movie. Dun see the back cover when u buy the dvd/vcd/tape. Just watch the damn movie.

The battle summary xd
1st wave : our forces engage the japanese cuisine and raided their stocks which includes of sashimi, oysters and rolls

2nd wave: we raided their water supply and get some coconuts ( 10 in total)

3rd wave: raided their fried stuff and kill alot of tempura prawns(lots of em lolz)

4th wave: raided their unagi production center by planting pins to excess most of their unagi created that time

5th wave: attacked their roasting food production center. We placed 10 pins on diiferent stuff such as cod fish, beef and lambs xd

6th wave : attacked their dessert factory and taken their cream puff and puddings xd

Then we were surrounded so all personnel split up and engage the enemy on their own LOLZ

at 2100 hour our storage was filled and mission completed so all personnel settle down by drinking lots of tea xd

results : all seems healthy except the 3 mentionned above xd
causes : all guessing is their raw supplies that have been contaminated by germs xd

Hmm its been awhile since I last blogged (lolx) ANYWAY today is a very memorable day as it’s the day where my anime collection expanded once again. Partly due to the anime warehouse sales behind my house. Take a look at the amount of anime dvds I bought.

WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA COOL SHIT EY??

Oo forpurchasing above RM500 got a free Cloud figurine (RM200)

And here is the bill:

oh I forgot to mention this is the total price AFTER an 80% discount off the DVDs. Try imagining if there wasn’t a discount. A rough estimate of the price before discount is RM1.6k.

AHAHAHA Man I never spent so much on anime goods in my life. Hahaha, oh and it so happens that I broke their sales record. The DJ working there was hyped and I had one of the most embarrassing moments of my life thanks to him. While I am carrying a box (as in those cardboard box) FULL OF ANIME, with several free poster gifts dangling on the end of my fingers (in plastic bags) and a free cloud figurine for spending above RM500 in which the storekeeper helped me carry to my car, the DJ announced my purchase through the megaphone >.> “We have a record breaker, with a purchase of RM724!! , oh he is walking out form the counter zone, oh my god look at the amount of goods he bought, come on give him a clap!” *staffs and other buyers claps* THAT WAS CRAZILY FUCKING EMBARRASSING >.< (The shopekeeper was very kind too as I lost my saiyuki dvd there *probably dropped off the box* and she just gave me a new one without charging me lolx, so kind of her)

On another note Joo Sin came to my house with a 1TB external hard disk. Well it is VERY pleasant to see another crazy anime otaku besides myself. We exchange some anime (the some comes in hundreds of gb), just the transfer alone took half the day 7+ hrs? and his collection expanded to around 700 gb and mine to around 600 gb (trust me if I have that external harddisk mine would hit 800 gb). Here is the screenshot of the completed and arranged series that I have (not including those that I feel lazy to arrange, those that are still ongoing, and those single to a few epi OVA).

RED ALERT 3

As u guys already know, RED ALERT 3 is out.
But sadly, i rather say is a dissapointment rather than a joyfull thing.
First off all we will talk about the casting of the characters inside RA 3.
Besides empire of the sun, the soviet and allied Leutenants are 100% wrongly chosen for the job.
What i mean is what kind of leutnant right in the middle of war will wea a low cut uniform ( showing the breast line) and a skiert which i think only few cm away from showing her underwear. Not to mention a teenage girl accent for those party type girls is like what a party girl doing in a coomand center (BIG SWT).
After that is the way they speak, in any show or any game (u can name all of it) there is no single femal commanding officer (leutenant and above) spoke like a girl talking to her friends during overnighting or behave like some model (eg sit on the table and pose liek a model.
The best part is like all we know since RA tanya DOES NOT Style her HAIR or put MAKE UP but guess what, RA3 the tanya looks like just come from a saloon. Is damn amazing how she maintain her hair after all the action.
For allied, i think the general and the president role should be swapped, the general sounds like a guy who is indecisive while the president is too manly or brute to be behind the desk.
Now about the game play, there is a 100% imabalance for all the units in RA3 the new GI = peace keeper can take ANY starting infantry without any problem so basically if u have 10 peacekeepr to camp at opponent base before tanks come out that guy can just quit the game swt.
The other thing is the tank now is weaker than an infantry (ANOTHER BIG SWT) d old tanks in RA2 can always with stand 1 on 5 infantry but believe it or not the new tanks cant even stand 1 on 4 unless the tank ram those guys.
ANd the most godlike thing in RA3 is our beloved TERROR DRONE. the old ones is not that strong because each time it is hit, it will slow down but guess what ladies and gentleman, now it can SWIM and TONS of HP and WAY HIGHER MSPD so if u got 10 of those say bye bye to any enemy tanks or infantry or ships u name it all gone.
the other part will be the country, RA1 have 6
RA2 have 8 or 10
AND GUESS WHAT, RA 3 only got 3 clap your hands
and now they make a game into such where numbers cant win but without numbers U will also lose LOL. they have plenty of super power to use so the more numbers u have the more it is wasted. But if u go for quality well it is worse because all the thinks now have an armour made of plastic which means any infantry in a group of 10 can whoop any thing u give them.
But thats not all ladies and gentleman, the super weapons is 100% imabalnce. Allied supper weapon can whoop a standard base (con yard, refinary , barracks, airfield, plants and battle lab) but empire of the sun can only dmg 1/2 of it and soviet can dmg 3/4 at most
So practically if use allied jsut get yourself a nice defense and wait for 6 mins and say big goodbye to your opponent.
The other rubbish thing is Allied planes is now as fat as 1/2 kirof in other words there is no way u can shoot all down. In the old RA2 1 flak cannon can whoop 3 planes down which means 3/4 got whooped but the new 1 cant even kill 1 effictively (the plane drop a bomb and u turn only it is shot down) and now th allied have the new plane which is even more gay as it run faster than kirov, 3/4 hp of kirov and drop 5 bombs so sending 4 of it can whoop a con yard any time with 0 casualities aint it amazing
And the system change to command and conquer to make yourlife more busy playing it
Overall my command will be like this, the one who attack 1st WIN and the one who on defensive will jus get whooped back to back with lil gains

Firstly i wanna say sry for not updating my chef menu in blog but i was very busy since last month because of the olympics. My friend, Michael wants me to his personal chef for the entire olympic because he do not like the food in Beijing and he obviously enjoy and love my food.

So this is one of the food i cook for him so that he can swim faster.Below is what u need:

SALMON FISH

Either noodles/rice will do.

EGGS

Instructions:

1) Ok first fry the fish until the colour becomes as epik as the right photo.

2) Make the fish into slices using your own way.It may take u several hours if u are a noob and be careful to take off the bones too.

3)Eggs....fry...scramble....

4) Add the noodles/rice into the combo.Habis!

Thats all for today.This is another healthy and easy menu recommendation to you all.TQ.Lastly my friend wanna say something:

On one fine day as usual, Kevin is doing his reports, and then suddenly he saw a black container on the table. When he took off the lid, he saw scalpels, forceps, scissors and many other tools for dissection. Out of a sudden he heard a voice "Use that to dissect frogs, be a ToadReaper", when he turn back he saw Ryuuku (refer to Death Note, in my case...Death Scalpel?) "I will REAP THEM ALL" said Kevin as if being possessed

He rushed off to the nearest pond and caught a toad, drown the toad in a CO2 filled container untill it faint and pinned down all 4 of its legs.

And played with the tongue....

"Shit its not the time to do this" suddenly getting over his humorous nature, he started skinning the toad. (Note: the toad is still alive, his body was twitching when the skin was cut)

Rip reap rip~ Sing kevin in a joyful manner.

Once he finished skinning its time to rip off the meat. (RAWR!!!!)

Ok after watching and collecting hundreds of anime, it seems like I seriously got sucked into the world of otaku-ism. When i was reading the manga To-Love-Ru i came across this character "Golden Darkness" a.k.a Yami << i decide that i would draw her out =D equipped with OpenCanvas4e plus and Adobe Photoshop CS2 i started my work.
FIRST! Lineart!!! which is fucking tedious and took me 5 hours =.= After the lineart next up is to give her some colour~ (add some colour to my life oh yea yea yea)

Now that I got the overall feel it is time to give her more "LIFE"! ops i forgot the eye.

YAMI!!!!! *Hugs* muacks* (should i strip her down? damn I was tempted to do so at this point)
But no way i will not taint my favourite character NEVER!!! But still hmm....
I guess I will make a wallpaper from her~ back to photoshop-ing i guess...after searching around my CG treasurebox for a nice CG background and did some slight adjustments to the colour overly and orientations here is the end result.

Yesterday I Went to a Pasar Malam

Yeah u got me right. Who would've expected? But thanks to Melbourne Uni Overseas Student Society (MUOSS), we partially(note the level) homesick and nightlife-apart-from-clubbing-deprived students get to revel in this authentically homelandish event. So we had a few stalls here and there, from Taiwan to Hong Kong to Korea to Singapore to Indonesia, and last but not least Malaysia YEAH YEAH. Quote Justin "wow Malaysia is so fun..."

Most of these stalls were selling subpar delicacies of which we still happily sampled nonetheless. I went there on an empty stomach, ended up filling it with Roti Canai without Dahl/Dal/Dull/Fark?! Yeah wtf. And teh tarik (which was surprisingly good), some French Toast drenched in Honey (Hong Kong Char Chan Teng anyone?), Tong Yuen, Bubur Cha Cha and Fu Chuk Yi Mai.

Well, being the nonsensical bunch which we are, anything goes and moreover, this surely has got to be the healthiest post after all of us has gotten out of shape after too much of BBQ FTW. , Thirsty? , and Fancy This?, and what more, with Chinese New Year looming around the corner, everyone's bound to gain some extra weight. So, now it's time to work out those booties with these simple workouts after extensive research.

Idol fever... boring!!

Ass fever! Damn!

Let us begin with the squat. Which is the only workout you need to know, really. According to Men's fitness, the squat is the single-most effective exercise and that nothing else comes close to it. The squat being a compound exercise (works out more than one muscle) targets every major muscle in your leg, including quadriceps, hamstrings and gluteal muscles (front thigh, back thigh and ass in layman terms).

First off, stand upright with your legs shoulder width apart, and knees slightly bent (while doing the workout you will want to avoid locking your knees). Then slowly lower your butt down, all the while keeping the heels to the ground. Imagine yourself as though you're sitting on a chair (sitting, not plonking yourself down like lazy people. We're working out here hello!). Make sure your knees do not bend past your toes. Then slowly rise up again, and keep your torso tight and upright. Repeat till you get Jennifer Lopez's ass.
